Frequently Asked Questions

Ask yer questions… but don’t blame the sea for the answers.

  • What exactly is The Curse of Bag End?

A five-film Pirates of the Caribbean marathon held over two days, paired with food, drink, games, and a fair bit of mischief. What began as a simple gathering has grown into an annual trial of endurance… and a tradition not to be taken lightly.

  • When does the voyage begin and end?

The crew assembles on September 19 and sails through to September 20. Consult the charted course for exact times.

  • Where be Bag End?

The precise location will be shared with those who’ve signed the ledger. Only the crew is trusted with such knowledge.

  • Must I attend the full voyage?

Nay—but those who endure the full journey earn the greatest glory. Come for what you can, but know the tale is best experienced in full.

Those who leave early rarely hear the best parts of the tale.

  • What should I bring?

Comfortable attire, a willingness to endure, and anything you’d like to contribute to the crew (snacks, drink, or provisions). Details will follow as the voyage nears.

  • Will there be food and drink?

Aye. There will be food, drink, and enough to keep the crew in good spirits. Contributions are welcome.

The rum, however… will not be in short supply.

  • Do I need to dress like a pirate?

Not required—but strongly encouraged for those wishing to fully embrace the spirit of the sea.

  • Can I bring a guest?

Aye—but all crew must be named in the ledger ahead of time. No stowaways.

  • What if I must cancel?

Send word as soon as you can. The crew must know who sails and who’s been lost to the tide.

  • Will there be quarters to rest for the night?

There is space to rest, but it is limited and not guaranteed for all. Plan ahead if you intend to remain for the full voyage.

The tide does not pause for the weary.

  • What if I’ve never seen the films?

Then all the better. Every legend must begin somewhere.

By the Captain’s own admission, the full tale has yet to be witnessed

  • What happens if I fall asleep?

Then you’ve been claimed by the tide… and the crew will remember it.

    Mercilessly.

  • Are there prizes?

For those who endure, there may be spoils worth the effort.

  • Who do I contact with questions?

Send word to the captain. All matters will be handled in due course.
